Sydenham Section: Ice Storm Repair Update and Reopened Sections (April 17, 2025)
The Sydenham Club has re-opened the main Bruce Trail and all associated side trails from Blantyre (km 0.0) to Bognar Marsh (km 27.0), and from the north end of Bayview Escarpment Nature Reserve (km 52.7) to Lindenwood (km 126.6).
The rest of the Sydenham section (main Bruce Trail and all side trails) between Bognar Marsh and the north end of Bayview Escarpment Nature Reserve, and between Lindenwood and Wiarton (km 171.6) remains closed.
Some trees remain on the ground in the open sections, but hikers can step over them. Volunteers will return to clear these once they have managed the major hazards and blockages in the closed sections.

Huge thanks to all the Trail Development & Maintenance volunteers who have made these re-openings possible, working long days to assess hazards and clear trail.
Thank you to all trail users who continue to be patient and stay out of closed areas to enable this work to be done.
All ice storm-related Trail closures and re-openings are reflected in the Bruce Trail App and on brucetrail.org/trail_changes/icestorm.
