All Bruce Trail side trails within The Akela & Scouter’s Heather & Ross Hamlin Nature Reserve at Riverside Woods (Riverside Woods) will be closed for a single day, April 4, 2025, due to a controlled burn taking place on the property to improve grassland habitat.

There will be no access to the property, including the laneway, Upland Side Trail, Goodyear Memorial Side Trail and Rushing River Side Trail. Staff and/or volunteers will be stationed at access points on the day of the controlled burn to inform hikers of the trail closure.

Smoke may persist in the area for up to 48 hours after the burn.
