Maps 35-42 – Peninsula – Caution advised after ice storm

Portions of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail were impacted by the ice storm March 29-30, causing debris to cover the Trail especially at higher elevations. The section, encompassing Wiarton to Tobermory, remains open but please exercise increased caution if hiking in the area as some sections have fallen logs and debris making the Trail impassable. Plan for shorter hikes and alternate options as you may not be able to hike the distances you originally intended. Trail maintenance volunteers are clearing the Trail, which may take several weeks to complete.

Please note, the Bruce Trail is currently closed from Dufferin Hi-Land through Sydenham (Mono Centre to Wiarton).
