Beaver Valley Section: Ice Storm Repair Update and Reopened Sections (April 25, 2025)
The Beaver Valley Club has removed all damage created by the ice storm on all its Main Trail sections and most side trails (from Craigleith to Blantyre).
However, one section of the Main Trail remains closed due to abnormal flooding unconnected to the ice storm.
Main Trail closed from Epping John Muir Lookout parking lot (km 94.3, Map 27) to bridge at km 100.4, Map 27.
Due to flooding of the main trail south of km 98.2 and flooding across the Alan Shortcut Side Trail.
Hikers can access the Main Trail at km 100.4 from roadside parking at intersection of Sideroad 22C and 3rd Line C (Map 27) via Siegerman Access Side Trail.
The Side Trails that remain closed due to flooding or excessive snow are:
– Wodehouse Karst Side Trail
– Stone Foundation Side Trail
– Allan Shortcut Side Trail
– Fairmount Side Trail
