Map 42 – Peninsula – High Dump campsite, temporary closure – LIFTED

UPDATE May 13, 2025: Access to High Dump has been restored, and backcountry camping at the site has resumed.

ORIGINAL POST May 9:
A message from Parks Canada regarding High Dump backcountry campsite:
“Due to ice storm damage and flooding, emergency access routes to the High Dump campsites are currently impassible. Therefore, camping at High Dump is closed until we can restore safe access. Camping is available in the Cyprus Lake Campground and Stormhaven.”

From the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club:
The Bruce Trail is currently not closed to hikers but expect ice storm damage and extremely wet hiking conditions along the Crane Lake Road into High Dump. Please do not drive on Crane Lake Road unless you have a suitable vehicle for the conditions (some vehicles are getting stuck).
