Map 40 – Peninsula – Devil’s Monument/ Akandoowinini Platform and Side Trail, temporary closure
Date Effective: May 9-19, 2026 | Map 40, Edition 31
Access to Devil’s Monument/Akandoowinini platform will be closed from May 9-19, 2026 for trail maintenance.
This means the Devil’s Monument Side Trail from the stairs all of the way down to the shore to Devil’s Monument beach will also be closed to public access from May 9-19, 2026.
Three Important Notes:
1) The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula is launching a new paid parking reservation system for Borchardt Rd on May 15, 2026 (see trail notice about parking here).
If you pay for parking during this closure, you will NOT have access to the viewing platform, the waterfall or down to the beach. The side trail will be closed at the stairs.
2) The main Bruce Trail will still be open to hikers.
3) Minhinnick Side Trail will be closed on May 9 when materials are being transferred (see trail notice here).
