Map 24 - Blue Mountains - Scenic Caves area, temporary closure and bypass - LIFTED

UPDATE Aug. 15, 2025
The section of Bruce Trail in the Scenic Caves area (km 61.5 to 64.3) has reopened, thanks to the dedicated effort of the Scenic Caves Nature Adventures (SCNA) staff to ensure the removal of hazard trees.

There has been a minor trail realignment at the southern access point (off 12th Sideroad, km 61.5) for approximately 500 m, at the request of the SCNA. As always, follow the white Bruce Trail blazes to stay on the correct route.

Hikers should also be aware that other trails on the Scenic Caves property (some of which intersect with the Bruce Trail) are private and for fee-paying guests of Scenic Caves Nature Adventures only.

The Mission Road Side Trail remains closed.

ORIGINAL POST: June 4, 2025
As a result of the ice storm (March 29-30, 2025), this section of Bruce Trail in the Scenic Caves area (km 61.5 to 64.3) will continue to be closed until further notice.

The suggested bypass for thru-hikers is to take three roads – 12th Sideroad to 3rd Line to County Road 119 – as illustrated on the map.

This temporary bypass has not been marked with Bruce Trail blazes.
