UPDATE, Feb.18, 2026:
Work on the pedestrian bridge was completed on Feb. 6, 2026 as expected and the closure has been lifted.

ORIGINAL POST, Jan. 9, 2026:
A portion of the Bert Lowe Side Trail (also known in this area as Welland Canals Trail) in Thorold will be temporarily inaccessible to allow for repairs to a pedestrian bridge.
Starting Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corp. will be closing the section of the trail around the Weir 25 crossing, just south of the Thorold Tunnel (Hwy. 58). The closure is expected to last until Feb. 6, 2026.
