Talisman Free Sale FAQ
Bruce Trail Conservancy to host “free sale” of items from the former Talisman Mountain Resort

When is the free sale?
The free sale will happen on Friday, September 11, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the former Talisman Mountain Resort. Please enter from Talisman Mountain Drive, and you will be directed to parking and the area where items are available. Please note that much of the property and the former hotel buildings will be closed off for the safety of visitors.
Do I need to pay for entry or for the items I take?
No, entry to the sale and all designated items are available free of charge. Donations to support the protection and future restoration of Talisman Forest Nature Reserve are greatly appreciated and will be graciously accepted but are not necessary to take advantage of the free sale.
What kind of items will be available?
There will be chairs, small tables, desks, dressers, ironing boards, luggage racks, and more. Items will be available as-is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are looking for furniture, please bring a vehicle large enough to transport your items.
What kind of plants will be available?
There are hostas, hydrangeas, and other landscaping plants available. Please bring your own shovel, pots and gardening tools to remove plants from the property. Plants must be removed during the free sale.
Can you hold an item for me?
All items must be taken from the property between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Friday, September 11. There will be no holds, and no items will be able to be collected after the free sale is over.
What do I do if I am interested in building materials (ie. windows, doors, fixtures)?
If you are interested in building materials, please contact Adam Brylowski, Director of Conservation Trail at abrylowski@brucetrail.org.
Can I explore the former Talisman resort buildings?
For the safety of visitors, the former hotel buildings and surrounding area will be closed. All available free sale items will be in a central location.
Can I make a donation?
Although not necessary to enter the sale or take designated items, cash and electronic donations are greatly appreciated and will be graciously accepted on site. Talisman Forever merchandise will also be available for purchase. To make a donation online, please visit talisman.brucetrail.org.
