Map 22 - Blue Mountains - muddy conditions
Map 22, Edition 30
Oct. 4 2021
Due to the nature of the event held on 25 Sept, combined with continued rainy weather, the approx 1 km stretch of trail noted in the post is extremely saturated and muddy. As such, hiking conditions are poor.
Hikers are advised to avoid the area for the next few weeks. The trail may not likely improve before Nov 1, when that section is typically closed for the winter at the landowners' request.
In the meantime:
- Northbound hikers should use Highlands Side Trail along Conc 10 as an alternate route.
- Southbound hikers originating from Cty Rd 91 would be advised to turn around at the location illustrated on the map.
Note: Trail closed signs have not yet been posted on site.
Hikers are advised of an event (www.mudhero.com) taking place at Woolner Place near Highlands in Duntroon, September 25, 2021.
The course will impede access to approx 1 km of Main Trail that runs north from the intersection of Nottawasaga Concession 10 South and Sideroad 21/22 (Map 22).
Hikers can circumvent this by following Highlands Side Trail along Concession 10 as an alternate route. (Map of Highlands Side Trail available on this trail notice from 2020)
