The main Bruce Trail through the Cheltenham Badlands remains open for hiking year-round.

However, the Credit Valley Conservation parking lot, accessible boardwalk and viewing platform to the Badlands off Olde Baseline Road have been closed for the winter.

The spring 2019 opening date for the lot and platform will be determined by the site managers, Credit Valley Conservation Authority. It is estimated that this will be in May 2019.

Remember that the exposed red shale hills of the Badlands are not accessible from the Bruce Trail. Please stay on the trail to protect the fragile and picturesque topography.

A flat rate parking fee of $6.50 per hour or $10 for a maximum of 2 hours is charged. Please be aware that you are not able to pay for more than 2 hours of parking.

Credit Valley Conservation may close their parks due to inclement weather. Please be sure to check their "Park Conditions" webpage before heading out to Terra Cotta Conservation Area, Belfountain Conservation Area, Ken Whillans Resource Management Area, and/or Cheltenham Badlands.

For more information on visiting the site, and spring reopening dates for the parking lot, boardwalk and viewing platform, see Credit Valley Conservation’s website:
