Bruce Trail Conservancy

Front Desk Volunteers:

Looking for a regular opportunity to get involved? Join us at our head office in Dundas to volunteer with our front desk team. We are currently seeking new volunteers who can commit 4 hours once a week on a regular basis to assist with front desk operations - if you have prior knowledge of the Bruce Trail, are comfortable interacting with our walk-in visitors and taking phone calls, and have basic computer skills, consider joining our team. Niagara Bruce Trail Club

The Niagara Club is currently seeking new volunteers to help with the duties of the Club. Here are some areas where they need your help:

  • Hike Leader - Lead hikes for members and non-members, set the routes, set the pace and point out areas of interest to hike members
  • Special Events Volunteer - Volunteers to help coordinate and faciliate a variety of Niagara BTC special events. Opportunities in this area may include Assistant Event Coordinators (assist the event coordinator with check-in on the day of the event, and other general coordinating tasks), Checkpoint Volunteers (provide snacks and encouragement to hikers, and record hiker arrival times), Parking Attendants (direct participants to available parking), and Bakers (supply/donate a few dozen snacks for event hikes)
     

Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club

The Iroquoia Club is currently seeking new volunteers to help with the duties of the Club. Here are some areas where they need your help:

  • Hike Events Coordinator - The Iroquoia Bruce Trail has a number of Hike events during the year that need to be organized. They are New Years Day Hike (January), Bruce Trail Day (September), Steeltown Stomp (shared with the Niagara BTC in September), Annual General Meeting hikes (June) and possibly more at the request of the community. We are looking for someone who has a passion for the Bruce Trail and organizational skills to coordinate the activities, such as securing park/land permits for the day, arranging other volunteers for check points, coordinating hike leaders to lead multiple hikes, coordinating a raffle and prizes at each event, arranging buses or facilities depending on the event, setup and take down of tables and tents, and other duties characterized by the event. 
  • Land Steward - Land Stewards are the long-term caretakers of BTC lands. It is their responsibility to keep an eye on their designated property on behalf of the BTC and the local clubs
  • Hike Leader - Lead hikes for members and non-members, set the routes, set the pace and point out areas of interest to hike members
  • Publicity Assistance - Assist with the Club's public image and marketing.
  • Landowner Relations Assistant - Maintain healthy working relationships with landowners.

Toronto Bruce Trail Club

The Toronto Club is currently seeking new volunteers to help with the duties of the Club. Here are some of the areas where they need your help:

  • Trail Captain - Maintain the Bruce Trail and side trails in a designated section.

Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club

The Caledon Club is currently seeking new volunteers to help with the duties of the Club. Here are some of the areas where they need your help:

  • Webmaster - Maintain the Club's website doing periodic updates and improvements to style and content.
  • Membership Team 
  • Publicity Team
  • Landowner Relations Team

Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club

The Beaver Valley Club is currently seeking new volunteers to help with the duties of the Club. Here are some of the areas where they need your help:

  • Landowner Relations Director - Maintains healthy working relationships with landowners, both public and private, and resolves concerns as they arise.
  • Hike Leader - Lead hikes for members and non-members, set the routes, set the pace and point out areas of interest to hike members
  • Trail Maintenance - Help with construction and repairs on the Trail. This includes a need for more Flying Squad Members.
  • Trail Captain - Maintain the Bruce Trail and side trails in a designated section.
