It's official: Driftwood Cove now part of Bruce Peninsula National Park

Thanks to a collaboration between Parks Canada and the Bruce Trail Conservancy, 3,272 acres of Niagara Escarpment wilderness and 8 km of Bruce Trail are protected for future generations.

On November 30, 2018, the Government of Canada finalized the purchase of the Driftwood Cove property near Tobermory with financial support from the Bruce Trail Conservancy.

The Bruce Trail Conservancy is pleased to support this extraordinary conservation effort. The acquisition of Driftwood Cove - which expands Bruce Peninsula National Park - represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve an expansive, ecologically-sensitive landscape while creating permanence for 8 km of Bruce Trail and creating further opportunities for people to explore the Niagara Escarpment.

Future plans for the property will be guided by Parks Canada and its management plan for Bruce Peninsula National Park.

Bruce Trail Conservancy donors and members know that exploring the landscape we are preserving is the best way to deepen our commitment to conservation. We look forward to celebrating with you at a public event at Driftwood Cove hosted by Parks Canada in the coming months.
