"Bruce Trail Illustrated" Opening a success
Surrounded by stunning paintings of Bruce Trail scenes, Bruce Trail members and their guests assembled in the Fireside Lounge at the Burlington Art Centre on January 27, 2011.
They were there for the Opening Night of Bruce Trail Illustrated, a solo exhibition of paintings by Anna Kutishcheva. Fifteen original works were on display and several more were featured in a slideshow running concurrently. Anna was graciously on hand to meet guests and speak with them a bit about her art and the inspiration she gains from the Bruce Trail.

Anna originally approached the Bruce Trail Conservancy with her idea for a themed exhibition and was curious about how she could work with and help the BTC.
In addition to offering a special opening night for BTC members, Anna also dreamed up the idea for a Your Bruce Trail on Canvas contest. In the fall of 2010, BTC members submitted short written descriptions of their favourite Bruce Trail locations. Two were chosen to be brought to life on canvas as part of the Bruce Trail Illustrated exhibition.
Paintings of the winning submissions were on display opening night. Congratulations to winners Wendy and Rick Plume, and Mark Kelsey.
