The winning image will be announced April 20, 2010 and featured on the cover of the Bruce Trail Magazine (summer 2010 edition).

2010 Theme: Making Connections
The theme for the 2010 Photo Contest is Making Connections.
The Bruce Trail, our clubs, our magazine, and this website are all ways in which our members make connections - with nature, with each other, and with new and exciting places.
We're looking for phenomenal Bruce Trail photos that show your take on Making Connections:
- connecting with others on the Trail
- connecting with nature on the Trail
- connecting youth to the Trail
- ecological connections
- Trail connections/intersections/forks
- your own ideas
Let creativity be your guide!
Keep in mind: The image will be used on the the magazine’s summer edition – so we’ll be looking for Bruce Trail images with a summertime look.
Grand Prize
The winning photo from this year's contest will be featured on the cover of the summer 2010 edition of Bruce Trail Magazine - sent to over 8500 households.
The winner will also receive a framed print of the cover and a great Bruce Trail gift pack (valued at $120).
(Last year's winning photo "Early Morning in Caledon" by Angela Larsen was featured on the summer 2009 edition)
How to Enter
1. Become a Member of the Bruce Trail Conservancy (if you are not already).
This contest is open to all BTC members.
2. Create a Member Profile on the BTC Website (if you haven't already)
You'll need your member number and last name to do so.
3. Upload photos to your member profile on the BTC website.
How?
- Login to your member account at www.brucetrail.org/login, or select "Member Login" at the top right hand corner of this page.
- Once you are logged in, make sure that you have a public profile. Select "Settings" in the top right hand corner of the page. Make sure that you have selected "Give me a Public Profile" in your preferences. Once this has been selected, click "Update Preferences".
- Select "My Profile" in the top right hand corner of the page.
- In your profile select "Upload Photos" to upload your photos.
4. Once you have uploaded your photos, visit the submission page to submit your favourites by March 24, 2010 (11:59 pm EST).
NOTE: Please retain a high resolution copy of your photo. The BTC website automatically reduces the size of the photo when uploading.
Judging
A judging panel from the Bruce Trail Conservancy will select the top 10 photos based on three criteria: visual appeal and composition; portrayal of the Bruce Trail and the contest theme; and originality and creativity.
The top 10 photos will be posted on the BTC website for members and the public to pick their favorite. Voting begins March 29, 2010.
The winner will be announced in the summer edition of the Bruce Trail Magazine. Finalists will be contacted between March 25-29, 2010.
Official rules and regulations
- Maxiumum of 3 entries per member.
- Member must be able to provide a copy of the photo with a high enough resolution to accommodate a space of 9” x 9” at a resolution 300 dpi.
