What is an End to End?  What is involved in completing it?

An End-to-End is the completion of the entire main Bruce Trail on foot. This can be done over 30 days or several years depending on how you'd like to approach it.

If you decide to go ahead with an end-to-end hike, it is highly recommended that you purchase the current Bruce Trail Reference Guide, especially if you are going to attempt any of the sections on your own. The guide will be a great help in planning out your trips. The guide can be purchased at major bookstores and through the BTC website.

Visit our Accommodation and Camping section for more information on places to stay during your trip.

To be recognized as an official End-to-Ender with the Bruce Trail Conservancy, you will need to do the following:

  • Send us your trail logs*
  • Be a member at the time you complete your end-to-end
  • Provide us with the date you completed your end-to-end
  • Send us $15 to cover the costs of processing your end-to-end and to pay for your end-to-end badge.

*The trail logs can be as simple as list of where you started and where you ended on a particular day. It might be worth having a separate page for each club section.

Club End-to-Ends and Badges

Each Bruce Trail Club also offers a badge for completing its section of the trail. To obtain a Club's End-to-End badge, submit your trail logs for that Club's section directly to the Club. Include a self-addressed envelope and the fee for the badge (usually between $3 and $6).

If you complete the entire trail, keeping your trail logs organized by Club section will make it easier to sort out which pages you need to send to which Club when you apply for the badge.

Organized Bruce Trail End-to-End Hikes

Most of the nine Bruce Trail Clubs offer organized end-to-end hiking opportunities. Usually they are run over 1 or 2 weekends and the Club will have water/snack stations along the trail on those days. There is a registration fee to participate in these organized hikes and you'll get your badge at the end of the weekend. You do not need to submit trail logs for these events.

Below is a list of the dates when Clubs tend to run their events. You will need to confirm with each Club the details of the event prior to the weekend. In some cases pre-registration is required. Details should be available on each Club's website (follow the links in each Club name).
