1. Introduction to hiking in Southern Ontario

In this informal classroom session, experienced Hike Leaders will guide participants through the ins-and-outs of hiking on the Bruce Trail and other trails in Southern Ontario.

2. Hiking gear review at Mountain Equipment Co-op

Take a look at the some of the essential gear...and some of the nice-to-have accessories...for your hike. Learn a bit more about boots, socks, backpacks, clothing, poles, water containers and other hiking accessories.
3. Scenic guided hike at Scotsdale Farm

10:00 am Bus departs from Clarence Square (on Spadina Ave. between Front and King Sts.)
10:15 am Bus departs from Islington Subway Station
11:15 am Deadline for hikers arriving by car at Scotsdale Farm
11:30 am Hike starts
Join hike leaders for a 10 km scenic loop hike on the Bruce Trail at Scotsdale Farm near Georgetown (approximately 3 hours long).
Bring a packed lunch, 1 litre of water, and $10 for bus fare.
If you prefer to car pool, directions to
Scotsdale Farm are available.
