Join the Toronto Bruce Trail Club's

Hiker Initiation Program

($5 bus fare is the only charge for this unique program)

 

1.  Introduction to hiking in Southern Ontario

Tuesday September 14, 6:30 pm
YMCA, Grosvenor Room (note: no longer in rooms 2a/2b)
20 Grosvenor St, Toronto
(West of Yonge St., between College and Wellesley Sts.)

In this informal classroom session, experienced Hike Leaders will guide participants through the ins-and-outs of hiking on the Bruce Trail and other trails in Southern Ontario.

Light refreshments will be available. Parking available across from YMCA ($5 flat rate)

 

2.  Hiking gear review at Mountain Equipment Co-op

Thursday September 17, 6:30 pm
Mountain Equipment Co-op
55 King Street West, Toronto

Take a look at the some of the essential gear...and some of the nice-to-have accessories...for your hike.  Learn a bit more about boots, socks, backpacks, clothing, poles, water containers and other hiking accessories.

 

3.  Scenic hike at Scotsdale Farm

Sunday October 3
Bus departs at 9:45 am from Clarence Square (on Spadina Ave. between Front and King Sts.)
Hike begins at 10:30 am

Join hike leaders for a scenic loop hike on the Bruce Trail at Scotsdale Farm (10 km; approximately 3 hours).

Bring a packed lunch and $5 for bus fare.
